Your First Visit to Our New York Office

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

Our reception is usually bustling with the health conscious of New York.

We will warmly greet you upon your arrival.  New patients often remark how welcoming our office is. That’s good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in comfortable surroundings. So make yourself at home.

If you’ve already completed the necessary information, great!  If not, after doing so you will meet with Dr. Anthony S. DeSano.

Consultation

The purpose of our initial consultation is so we can get to know each other, and to learn more about your specific health concerns and health goals.

We Listen

During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it’s important that you’re comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.

Examination

If our consultation suggests that you’d likely be helped with chiropractic care, we’ll need to perform a complete examination. Our patients often comment on how thorough our examination is, compared with other practitioners they’ve consulted.

Our examination varies based upon what we discover during the evaluation of your health history. What we find will tell us which examinations we need to conduct:

Before we perform any tests We Explain Everything First

Patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Chiropractic

These tests can include postural evaluations, static and dynamic palpation and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.

sEMG

sEMG Scan Revealing Nervous System Interference.

Surface electromyography is an instrument that locates subluxation patterns by measuring electrical activity in the muscles supporting the spine.

Thermography

(PHOTO OF THERMOGRAPHY)

Thermography is a way of measuring tiny differences in skin temperature that can reveal nervous system disturbances.

X-ray

Diagnostic imaging can help locate any bone abnormalities, fractures and reveal your spine’s phase of spinal decay.

The importance of each of these tests will be explained to you on your Second Visit at your Report of Findings. However, it is important to note that this examination procedure helps scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning.

At the end of your first visit we will give you some important information on what the doctor examined you for and we will schedule your second visit.

Dr. D Asks some important questions of interest to Woodhaven residents - Chiropractor Woodhaven Dr. D Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Woodhaven and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic practice member knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
